BUILDING INSPECTOR

The Corporation of The Town of New Tecumseth is seeking a positive, team-oriented individual to fill the position of Building Inspector. Reporting to the Manager of Building Standards/Chief Building Official, this position is responsible for performing duties regulated under the Building Code Act for the administration and enforcement of the applicable building code. You will perform inspections and provide information to the general public regarding the applicable building code, municipal by-laws and any other regulations pertaining to building, plumbing and sewage systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have the appropriate qualifications as regulated by the Building Code to perform inspections.
• Must be experienced in performing all inspections related to residential and agricultural buildings including plumbing and private sewage systems.
• Requires the ability to perform intermediate math calculations and to read and interpret blueprints.
• Ability to deal with the public in an appropriate manner.
• Plans examination experience is required.
• Valid “G” Level Driver’s Licence in good standing
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Computer literacy.

SALARY:

$45,827.60 to $57,293.60 dependent on qualifications and experience.
